Resident-to-Resident Meeting

While the Town will host an official Public Meeting later in the process, residents who spent time reviewing the proposal and learning about how the Secondary Plan, Major Transit Station Area (MTSA) designation, and the Provincial Planning Statement (2024) guide development decisions held a meeting on Monday May 12th. You can see their slide presentation below.

Here is their advice on next steps and staying engaged:

  • Review the Submitted Studies: Visit the webpage130 Mountainview Application Halton Hills”, you will find an overview of the project and a good FAQ. Open the “First Submission” dropdown to see all technical reports. Pick a topic that matters to you. The Planning Justification Report has a good overview of the project.

  • Share Your Feedback: Email your comments to gmacdonald@haltonhills.ca You can also share your thoughts at the formal Public Meeting.

  • Copy Your Councillors: Visit “Halton Hills Contact Us” and scroll to “contact your ward councillors” and share your feedback with them. (This site is in Ward 3 but all of Council makes votes on the proposal)

  • Attend the Public Meeting: date and time will be shared through the Town’s notification list

Some of their tips on how you can have influence:

  • Avoid “NO” comments — focus on specific suggestions for change

  • Identify where the proposal strays from Town or Provincial policies

  • Highlight clear impacts on your street, neighbourhood, or services

  • Use examples and evidence — what doesn’t work, and what could work better

And some of their sample comments:

  • “This proposal is too tall and dense for the site and doesn’t respect the character of the neighbourhood.”

  • “The podium height and minimal stepbacks create a harsh street wall. This does not support a walkable or welcoming neighbourhood edge.”

  • “The proposal under-delivers on commercial space and misses the opportunity to create a vibrant, mixed-use neighbourhood.”
