Georgetown GO Station and Mill Street Corridor Secondary Plan

πŸ“£ Calling all residents of Dayfoot Dr, Mill St, Queen St, Rosetta St, King St, Dominion Gardens, River Rd, Stewart Maclaren Rd, Lynden Circle, and nearby areas!

Big changes are coming to the area around the Georgetown GO Station and Mill Street Corridor, and now is your chance to help shape the future of your neighbourhood.

The Town of Halton Hills is reviewing the Secondary Plan for this area. A Secondary Plan is a set of rules that guide how land is used and developed in a specific part of town. It helps decide where new homes, businesses, and public spaces should go, how tall buildings can be, and how transportation and green spaces fit in.

Why does this matter?

  • More high-density housing is already underway, and more is planned.

  • The area is designated as a Major Transit Station Area (MTSA), meaning it’s expected to grow and develop around the Georgetown GO Station to encourage transit use.

  • The plan will influence how new development fits into the community while protecting existing neighbourhoods.

How is the Town making sure residents are heard?

At the most recent public meeting, Mayor Lawlor responded to public concerns by creating a community advisory committee to provide more local input. This committee includes:
βœ“ 5 residents
βœ“ The two Ward Councillors (Ron Norris and myself)
βœ“ The Regional Councillor (Jane Fogal)
βœ“ The Mayor (Anne Lawlor)
βœ“ Town staff and planning consultants

As Chair of this committee, I am committed to facilitating meaningful dialogue between the community and the planning team.
